Bermuda is another tropical paradise that recently added a digital nomad visa, or Work From Bermuda. This is the place for you if you prefer luxury living and don’t mind paying more for living costs. The Bermuda digital nomad visa will allow you to stay in Bermuda for up to a year.

Bermuda recently opened a program that allows remote workers, freelancers, or students to live and work or study in their gorgeous island nation. With a stunning atmosphere, the sea, and the sun, you will indeed feel it’s more of a vacation than doing what you do regularly. Check if you are eligible and apply!

Bermuda Visa Requirements:

You must work remotely for companies located outside of Bermuda, or you own a location independent business

• Visa Information – If you are required to have a visa to enter Bermuda (Multiple Entry Visas are required
• Health Insurance 
• Proof of travel insurance
• Proof of income / Proof of Means – approximate annual income is asked; no specific amount is stated

Qualifications:

• Can be for those Currently Employed, Working from Home (like Digital Nomads), or
• Enrolled in Tertiary Education (Research, Undergraduate, Graduate or Doctorate) and studying remotely
• At least 18 years old
• Not convicted of a crime or civil proceedings
• Have substantial means and a continuous source of income (there’s no requirement as per their website, but like most Caribbean Nations, earning at least USD 50K is a good amount)
• Have a valid health insurance coverage

Cost Of Living In Bermuda:

The cost of living in Bermuda is probably the highest on this list and on average is 108% higher than the USA’s cost of living. In mid range areas, you could expect rent to be at least $1300 plus monthly expenses; while nicer areas will cost a minimum $2,000. All in all, you should expect to spend about $3,000 per month at a minimum.

1: If you are eligible, you can start gathering your documents. You may need to scan them ahead.

2: Go to this website as the online application form is here. You will need to type the details and upload the documents required. 

3: Pay the $263 fee for the certificate.

4: Your application will be processed in 5 working days. An e-mail with your Work From Bermuda Certificate will be sent to you once you are approved.

Things To Note:

• Family members need to apply separately and pay the fees separately. Related applications must be submitted on the same day.
• Children can attend schools in the country.
• In case of denial, you can appeal within 7 working days from the date of refusal by email to the Chief Immigration Officer.
• Applicants will be regarded as residents receiving a Work From Bermuda Certificate.
• There is no need to pay income taxes as applicants are not employed in Bermuda.
• Residential Certificate is renewable on a case-by-case basis, or you could also re-apply again.
