Pizzeria Picasso: Marbella, Spain

Pizzeria Picasso was recommended to me as a highly visited place right next to the harbor. They said that during the busy hours there can be a line wrapped around the corner waiting to be seated. We decided to go right at opening time for lunch to beat the crowd and when we arrived there were already a few tables full and more people continued to arrive shortly after we sat down.

DECOR in Pizzeria Picasso:

There is an inside and “outside” patio portion. This has a somewhat retractable roof that can open or close depending on the weather. If you sit in the front of the patio you have a direct view into the Marine with all the beautiful yachts. It’s fun to sit and imagine what life would be like if you were one of the owners just dropping in for a quick bite before heading back out to your fancy life on the sea. (One day maybe, one day). The garden has tons of plants with stone brick floors and beautifully tiled columns in the center. The green and white stripped cushions on the patio furniture match the cloth on the walls for the patio. Inside it become a bit more vibrant with large murals on the wall and robust wooden bar.

AMBIANCE:

It has a classic Italian meets luxury garden patio. The music was very contemporary, a mix of hip hop and club dance music. It’s a nice place to relax.

SERVICE in Pizzeria Picasso:

The staff were friendly and very quick with the food. They answered our questions and were helpful in making decisions to order.

TASTE:

Picasso: it’s a frozen drink with vodka, mango, lime and passion fruit. Comes with a tower of fruit on top(€10.95)

Pizza original BBQ chicken: the thin crust was very crunchy , the chicken was tender and well seasoned but it came in quite large chunks. Perhaps it could have been cut thinner or spread out more evenly. The smoked Gouda and mozzarella mix was very good and the sauce was very much in the forefront of the overall taste. The portion size is quite large, so my partner and I split one. I believe you can order smaller portions of pizza as well as pasta (€14.95)

Cheesecake: WOW. Just wow. Thick amd creamy, buttery crust and a delicious strawberry sauce to cover this slice of pure heaven. Honestly it was orgasmic. Best thing by far we’ve ordered. (€7.50)

Total: 8.5/10
