Paris, France: A Comprehensive Guide to Exploring the City of Lights

Paris was my 25th birthday trip. I have always loved everything Disney, and one thing on my personal bucket list is to go to all the Disney parks around the world. I thought it would be a good way to celebrate “the passing of my youth” as I like to call it. So my roommate and I took a long weekend trip to Paris for 3.5 days.

Dress Code: it varies but people tend to be much more fashionable here in their daily lives

Disneyland
So let’s start with the big one: Disneyland! Disneyland Paris, located in Marne-la-Vallée, France, is a magical destination that offers unforgettable experiences for visitors of all ages. Sites in Paris:
The Eiffel tower
The Iron Lady is obviously the most iconic landmark in Paris. What people don’t realize though is there are tons of places to give you great views of this around the city. I found it to be much nicer than close up photos. You have to pay entry to the park if you want to go up into the tower, which we opted not to do. At nicht they have a light show that is absolutely beautiful from anywhere in the city.
The Louvre museum
The Louvre is another very famous must see in Paris. I thought that it was a very cool museum. You don’t have to pay entry to be up on the top part but you will to go inside.
The arc de Triomphe
The Arc is probably the most famous arc in the world. The problem is that it sits right in the center of a very busy intersection of the city. It is a beautiful structure but again, I think it can be enjoyed from different vantage points further away.
Notre Dame
Since my trip, a truly tragic accident has left one of the oldest and most iconic building in Paris, Notre Dame, burnt down. Anyone who was lucky enough to see this magnificent church before hand I think should consider themselves truly lucky. I know I do.
What to Eat in Paris:
The food is Paris was all extremely tasteful and sadly I don’t have the specific locations for many of the places we ate during our trip. However I will recommend getting a box of macaroons from the Galeries Lafayette. They were incredible.
Extras:
We happened to stumble across the bridge from the movie “inception”.
