La Milkeria is one of the best brunch or breakfast spots in the city. The cafe also serves a variety of other sweet treats, including milkshakes, crepes, and waffles, making it a favorite destination for dessert lovers of all ages. We came around 10 am and it was already very busy, so if you want to have a seat come early!

Caffe Pontevecchio

If you’re looking for a traditional cafe while near the Ponte Vecchio, look no further than its name sake cafe. You will find all the traditional Florence breakfast options at this cafe and can choose to sit or take away like many locals do own their way to work. rices were pretty standard which was surprising considering how close it is to the bridge.

Bar Perseo Caffè Perseo

IL Toscanaccico

We were strolling looking for food, on our way to another restaurant actually when we came across Il Toscanaccino. The group decided it looked like a good spot and the staff was extremely welcoming (even had an American from Nevada on staff!). They were extremely knowledgable about the wine and had great recommendations for pairing based on our meal choices.

  • Hours: 8:00- 1:00am
  • Wine: €35 a bottle (split between 4 people was delicious)
  • Mugello tortilla with butter and sage: €14
  • Tagliatelle with wild boar sauce: €14

I’Margartio

I’Margarito Cantina Messicana offers a unique culinary experience that combines the vibrant flavors of Mexican cuisine with the rich culinary heritage of Tuscany. This popular restaurant specializes in authentic Mexican dishes crafted with fresh, locally sourced ingredients. The cozy and welcoming ambiance, coupled with friendly service, creates a lively atmosphere perfect for enjoying a casual night with friends. They have some crazy cocktail option and their frozen margaritas are quite the site to see. Enjoy a mixture of flavors (loved the peach, pineapple and mango + Chile margs).

  • Hours: every day 17:30- 2:00 am
  • Happy Hour: 17:30-20:30 all drinks that usually are €8 cost €5.50

Gelato:

Gelateria Artigianale Cantina del Gelato

Gelateria Artigianale Cantina del Gelato is a renowned artisanal gelato shop that delights locals and tourists alike with its delectable frozen treats. If you enjoy roulette styled decision making, give their flavor wheel a spin. We recommend grabbing it to go and walk across the street to enjoy on the canal.

  • Price: €3.50 – 2 scoops waffle cone (I had chocolate orange and pink sea salt caramel)

GROM

GROM is a renowned gelateria celebrated for its artisanal gelato made from high-quality, natural ingredients. Additionally, Venchi offers a delightful selection of gelato made from fresh, locally sourced ingredients. With flavors ranging from classic favorites to innovative creations inspired by Italian culinary traditions.

Best Bars

Loggia – Rooftop Bar

Perched atop the historic Hotel Calimala, Loggia Rooftop Bar offers a sophisticated and enchanting setting for enjoying panoramic views of the city’s skyline. With its prime location in the heart of Florence’s historic center, this rooftop oasis provides an ideal vantage point for admiring iconic landmarks such as the Duomo and Palazzo Vecchio. You can have these amazing views while savoring delicious cocktails and gourmet cuisine. The bar’s chic and contemporary design, coupled with its warm ambiance and attentive service, creates an unforgettable experience. Loggia Rooftop Bar promises an elevated and memorable dining experience for couples or friends alike. Sunset is the perfect time to visit so try to make a reservation for half an hour before.

  • Reservations: not necessary depending on the day but recommended (we got same day)

Angel Roof Bar

Located in the top of the Hotel Calimala, this sophisticated bar provides a chic and stylish setting for guests to unwind and indulge in handcrafted cocktails, fine wines, and gourmet snacks. Angel Roof Bar is the perfect spot to enjoy a romantic evening under the stars. Its also a great option to gather with friends for a memorable night out. Whether sipping cocktails against the backdrop of Florence’s historic landmarks or soaking in the vibrant atmosphere of the city below, visitors to the Angel Roof Bar are treated to a one-of-a-kind rooftop experience that epitomizes the charm and allure of Florence. We were greeted with incredible service, complimentary Prosecco and the recipe for the bread we loved so much!!!

  • Hours: Monday- Thursday 17:00-23:00 & Friday – Sunday Noon- 23:00
  • Reservation: recommended, we managed same day no issue but depends on season

Fiddlers Elbow– Irish Pub

From traditional Irish stews, fish and chips to gourmet burgers and sandwiches, Fiddler’s Elbow satisfies cravings for classic comfort food with a touch of Irish flair. The cozy interior, complete with wooden furnishings and live music performances, creates a convivial atmosphere. With its warm hospitality and authentic Irish charm, Fiddler’s Elbow is a popular destination for locals and tourists seeking a taste of Ireland in the heart of Florence.

Wine Windows

Osteria Belle Donne

Osteria Bella Donna in Florence is a culinary gem nestled within the historic streets of the city, offering an authentic taste of Tuscan cuisine and warm hospitality. Known for its traditional yet innovative dishes crafted from locally-sourced ingredients, this charming osteria delights diners with its rustic ambiance and flavorful creations.

However, we chose to visit for another special feature; the famous Florence wine windows. You simply walk up and knock on the window door to order. You can choose to either relax with your glass out on the streets or take it to go! Our wines ranged from €5-8 and they were all enjoyable. There can be a line depending on the time you visit as it has become a popular location in the city. If you wish to dine in, that is also an option.

  • Price: €5-8, up to €11

Babae

Babae is a trendy and vibrant restaurant offering a unique fusion of Mediterranean and Asian flavors. With its innovative menu and stylish ambiance, Babae has quickly become a favorite dining destination for locals and tourists alike. They offer a variety of creative dishes, from sushi rolls and sashimi platters to Mediterranean-inspired salads and grilled seafood. The restaurant’s chic decor and lively atmosphere create the perfect setting for enjoying a memorable meal with friends or loved ones. Make sure you try out their wine window as well.

DiVin Boccone
