Iguana Mexican : Budapest
We were really craving Mexican and looked up a few places online. I’m so glad we choose Iguana. Yes the reviews were great but honestly I partly chose it because I liked the name (hey, sometimes it really is that easy to get my interest!)
DECOR/AMBIANCE:
The music was a little loud at first upstairs but the music selection was so good that we really enjoyed it. It wasn’t so loud that you weren’t able to hold a conversation or even hear the neighboring tables if you wanted. The dim lights and candle lights gave a very cozy feel.
SERVICE:
The servers were so friendly, and spoke English very well. They were attentive but never over bearing. They seemed to show up exactly when you needed something.
TASTE:
Combo platter: the combo platter comes with 2 chicken tenders which were very tender, 6 taquitos which I thought were okay and 4 jalapeño poppers which were tasty. It also comes with a honey mustard and a thousand island type dipping sauce (€10)
Monterey burrito: was full of flavor and had a surprisingly solid consistency. comes with rice, beans, sour cream and salsa on the side (€10)
Cheese quesadilla: it is a large portion, comes topped with a little sour cream dollop on each quarter and guacamole with jalapeños in the center (€6)
Mango margarita: I really enjoyed it (€4) while it was a little smaller than expected, the price was fair. The consistency was also spot on.
Strawberry margarita: was also good (~€4) slightly cheaper than the mango. This was naturally sweeter and was hard to choose which I liked better. Would order both again depending on my mood.
Overall we really enjoyed our experience and all of the menu options we chose at Iguanas. We would absolutely return to try some new items as well as reorder their tasty drinks! Total: 9/10
