Jabega: Malaga, Spain

Jabega : Malaga, Spain

We decided to drive a bit further for dinner on our second night. We took a bit of a stroll up the coast line and wanted to check out the selection of restaurants. We saw the variety and everything seemed really well priced so we decided to give Jabega a try.

AMBIANCE:

There is a single street between Jabega and the beach. They have some outdoor seating and a large inner room. They have some plants but the decor isn’t anything special to write about to be honest.

SERVICE at Jabega:

The staff was extremely friendly. They were very attentive but also wonderful about giving us our space and time to eat in peace. Anything extra we wanted they were happy to oblige. Very kind, and although gratuity is included I wanted to give a little extra and they said they couldn’t accept it.

TASTE:

Prawn pil pil: you can never go wrong with Mediterranean seafood. Grilled shrimp on a sizzling butter sauce is how I image heavens starter course (€6.50)

Mini Iberian burgers: these were surprisingly delicious. They had a small bit of goat cheese and a hard boiled egg. The meat was soft, tender and juicy and the bun was so soft (€4.50)

Grilled chicken skewers: my partner ordered these, and he said they were heavily spiced but it wasn’t overwhelming. The meat was tender and over all very tasty (€4.30)

Mini snack: this little mix plate was very good. It came with two croquettes, two Asian styled fried shrimp and mini fried chicken strips. All were extremely tasty (€7.50)

Pitcher of sangria: this was a more traditional sangria but it came with cinnamon sticks (€10.70)

Total: 7.5/10

Address: Calle Jaén, 1, 29640 Fuengirola, Málaga
