Primary Language: Thai, if you stay in hotels some staff will speak English, some may not. Very similar in restaurants and street vendors, they’re used to tourists and you find a varying degree of language levels.
Driving: they drive on the lefthand side, you need an international drivers license to drive here if you want to rent a scooter.

Exploring the different sides of Krabi was important for us, so we wanted to make sure we split our time between the two main beaches. We made sure to spend a few nights on the famous Railay beach and highly recommend this so you can experience the night life and some life changing sunsets. Railay Beach:
Sand Sea Resort
Our stay included breakfast so we of course enjoyed our mornings beach front. The selection as well as the taste of food was pretty average but the view was top notch. We decided to only have breakfast here so we cannot attest to their lunch or dinner menus. They do however have pretty good fruit smoothies available which is always great for the beach.
The Little Nine Cafe
This was the first place we had dinner after arriving at Railay. We arrived just in time for sunset and didn’t have much time to explore the area as we were really hungry and juts wanted to grab something quick. Prices were reasonable, food is pretty decent.
Orchia
I love fruit smoothies, sodas and teas. If you can relate then I recommend grabbing one from this cute stand on Railay walking street. It was incredible and cost less than $2. They have tons of flavor options and you can combine them to create your own mixture if you’d like!
Sawadee Railay
We were looking for a place to grab some food and a quick drink before heading to explore the walking street a bit more on our second day. They have an upstairs which has bar tables overlooking the street ad we enjoy people watching. Drinks were good, food was decent and prices were average.
Tonsai Beach:
Tinidee Hideaway
Tonsai beach has very limited food options so we split our time between eating at the resort and the restaurant down the beach. Prices at the resort were a bit more expensive so we enjoyed a big free breakfast here each day and then tended to head down for dinners. However, the highlight is their homemade coconut rum. It’s phenomenal!
Tonsai Bay Cliff Restaurant
This was the only other large restaurant on Tonsai. It was a little cheaper in price than the resort and had some different options so we enjoyed dinner here a few times. They have a variety of foods, traditional and international.

Great post. We love Railay. My brother was married there in 2010, and since sailing to Phuket 10 years ago, we have been back to Railay more than 10 times. It is just so chilled. We recently rode to Ao Nang and got a long-tail boat to Railay and we stayed at Sand Sea Resort. It is a great location.
