Malibu Beach Bar: Benalmádena
Malibu beach bar: Benalmádena
Malibu Beach Bar was recommended to us by our host as it is a very short walk from the AirBnB. It’s right on the water front and seemed to be very popular in the weekends with a younger crowd. However, T his isn’t to say we didn’t see older couples along with families. Just don’t be surprised if T he majority of the patrons are in their 20’s.
DECOR:
It’s your typical beach bar other than it’s not directly on the beach, it’s slightly raised above. They have a VIP tiki lounge and the rest are normal outdoor patio furniture with large white umbrellas. On Saturdays they bring out a few large white loungers as well.
AMBIANCE:
The best part is the panoramic view of the ocean and the sound of waves crashing onto the shore. The breeze comes in and if you sit by the railing you get a light mist from the ocean. It’s a very laid back bar, meant to come and hang out for a good time and lots of drinks. It fits well with the no rush vibes known in Spain. They have a Latin hip hop music style that isn’t over bearing.
SERVICE at Malibu Beach Bar:
The staff was friendly but they definitely give you your space as well as your time. We had to eventually flag someone down when we got hungry enough because no one comes to the table to check in unless they come to clean your table of drinks and such.
TASTE:
Bahama Mama: was your typical Bahama Mama so naturally was very refreshing (€6)
Long Island ice tea: not the sweetest LIT I’ve had but it was pretty good overall, they gave a decent amount of limes. My partner thought it had a different aftertaste (€7)
Jalapeño poppers: the cheddar poppers were pretty typical bar poppers, the cheese was good, the breading was crunchy (€5)
Mozzarella sticks: the breading was crispy and the cheese was very soft and stringy just the way you’d want it. Over all good (€4.50)
Total: 8.5/10
