Location & Accessibility
Description of the hotel’s location & How to get to TiniDee
TiniDee Hideaway is located on the remote tropical paradise of Tonsai beach. The resort is only accessible by boat so make sure you arrange for transport. You can read below about all the best starting destinations to help you plan your trip.
From Krabi Town and Krabi Airport
From Krabi bus station or airport, the easiest way to reach Tonsai is to take an airport limousine or taxi to Ao Nang. Alternatively, there is a 40 minutes shuttle ride from the airport.
From Ao Nang and Noppharat Thara Beaches
Long tail boats only depart from the beaches at Ao Nang (to the right of Phanang Inn hotel) and Noppharat Thara (at Wangsai seafood restaurant) and stop at Tonsai first on their way to Railay Beach – journey time is around 15 minutes. Inform the ticket seller and the boat man you want to go to Tonsai Bay, otherwise you will be taken to Railay West. Boats depart as soon as there are enough people to fill them, around 8-10 people. In high season this means they run fairly frequently, but there can be waits during off-season or later in the evening. You can also charter your own boat to leave immediately.
You may occasionally have to walk in the sea to get to the boat, so we recommend wearing appropriate dress and shoes. It is only possible to buy one way tickets to Tonsai from Ao Nang and Nopparat Thara. A return journey can be bought directly at Tonsai Beach.
From Railay Beach
You can actually hike from Railay Beach to Tonsai Beach following a narrow path. Although it is also theoretically possible to just walk over the rocks to the other side at low tide, we do not recommend this route. The most convenient way is to take a private or public long tail boat which will carry you from / to Railay Beach in less than 5 minutes.
From Phi Phi Island
From November to April, ferries from / to Phi Phi Island depart and arrive daily, usually one in the morning and one in the afternoon, and journey time is around 1 3/4 hrs. The ferry moors offshore and a free long tail boat service is available to carry passengers to and from the shore.
Proximity to transportation hubs, attractions, and amenities
Tonsai is isolated and as it is only accessible by boat, you would need to make arrangements to visit any of the nearby sites. We recommend taking a day trip to go island hopping with a long tail boat tour. We did a trip to Hong island and some of the nearby smaller islands and it was incredible.
You can also hike over to Railay beach for the nightlife and some food if you wish. We didn’t make the hike as we visited Railay for a few days before we came to Tonsai. However, if you get stir crazy or restless easily, then this is a good option for some entertainment.

Workspace availability and quality
There are no working dedicated areas on the property. I worked in our room the majority of the time due to the AC as a relief from the midday heat. In the mornings and evenings if I needed to get some work done I worked by the pool which was incredible with the view of the bay.
Internet speed and reliability
Despite being so remote, internet was never an issue! It’s crazy to think about being on a secluded beach but still being fully connected. I was able to upload, download and stream without any problems or any lagging.
Noise levels and privacy
The only noise complaint we can mention is that occasionally we heard loud bangs on the roof of our treehouse. The culprit – monkeys! The locals can be a little rowdy but other than the wildlife, there is total tranquility. There is basically no-one else on the island other than a few locals, shop owners and maybe another resort that we never saw anyone coming from. It’s total privacy and relaxation.
Facilities & Services
On-site facilities such as gyms, pools, co-working spaces, etc.
Restaurants
Tinidee Hideaway Tonsai Beach Krabi’s CAFÉ NIDEE Restaurant & Lounge offers a wide selection of food and beverages to suit every dining occasion. Relax, order your favorite food and drink and enjoy the spectacular views of the azure Andaman Sea and the awesome limestone cliffs! Opening Hours: 07:00 a.m. – 10:00 p.m. Breakfast: 07:00 a.m. – 11:00 a.m.
TiniDee Pool
There is one main pool located directly in front of the beach. It has 360 degree views of the beautiful cliffs, sea and resort. There are 6 sets of sun beds, a few chairs and some lounge areas around for guest to hang out. If you like some more interactive seating, there are 2 small swings, one large swing, as well as two hammocks in the main areas.
Quality of services provided (housekeeping, front desk, etc.)
The staff are all friendly and keep the place running smoothly. Beds are freshly made and new towels, glasses and things are provided each morning if you request them. They also have guides for excursions and tours you can do day trips with. If you want to hire a tour guide or ask for recommendations, they will gladly help with all of this as well! The front desk is not open at all times though so keep in mind early mornings and evenings you may not have someone at the desk.
Value for Money
Pricing compared to similar accommodations in the area
TiniDee is not a cheap destination resort. When there’s basically no one else on the secluded beach offering accommodation options, you can price however you’d like. If you’re looking to stay directly on Tonsai, then you need to bite the bullet on pricing. If you are happy to commute to the beach for a day, then perhaps you should check out Railay beach instead. We stayed at Sand Sea Resort before heading to Tonsai. Make sure you check out that article review as well!
Inclusion of value-added services or perks
Breakfast is included and its al e cart plus a mini “extras” buffet such as fruit, juices and breads. They had filters for water in the rooms. Welcome drink and cold towel upon arrival. We were given a very small “early check in”. We arrived 3 hours before check in and were able to access our room about 30 minutes early. However they gave us pool towels to lounge while we waited.
Our Experience & Thoughts
Personal experience and impressions
I was really excited about visiting TiniDee for a long time. While it is a very unique and beautiful place, I think I expected a bit more from the resort. They very clearly state over and over upon arrival that they are only a 3 star resort – so this may have been over expectations on my part.
We loved our treehouse villa, but the AC only working if you leave your key card (cannot lock your room then) was a bit of a bummer as it was very hot every time we returned. The beach is stunning and the pool was one of the most refreshing in Thailand thankfully, but unless you are looking to lay around and not do much, I would say a few days here is all you need. Breakfast was good but only having about 3 options for the al e cart styled was a bit limited. Food was tasty just a bit expensive. Overall I would still recommend this as a place for total relaxation and to get truly away from the rest of the world.
Recommendations and tips for future guests
Definitely plan ahead for transportation to the island and remember it can only be accessed by boat. Look into the arrival times as well to make sure you’re within the time frame that someone is available to help you. Bring snacks or alcohol with you if you’d like to have more options and save some money. This is a great place to book a boat tour from to explore the nearby islands, or rent a kayak.
