Location & Accessibility
Description of the hotel’s location
Located in South-West Munich, WunderLocke is about a 15 minute drive from the city center. If you are looking for easy access to the center but do not wish to stay directly in the hustle n bustle, then getting slightly outside the main center is the perfect solution for you.
Proximity to transportation hubs, attractions, and amenities
While you might be concerned that staying slightly outside of the city center would be an issue, have no fear! WunderLocke is very well situated with public transport options all around. There are 2 U-bahn, an S-bahn and bus stations all within 5 minutes of walking distance to the hotel. We did often drive with a car as we were coming from out of town so either public or driving is no problem. You are in the vin city of so many cool things such as the Paulaner brewhouse, BMW museum, Erding Therme, and of course the world famous Oktoberfest grounds! Workspace availability and quality
There is no shortage of work spaces available at WunderLocke. he entire downstairs floor has plenty of areas for co-working including large farm house style tables for group, small private tables for individuals or couples and plenty of unique spaces to help keep you focused. They also have private meeting rooms available upon request if you have a larger group or team meeting while you are in town.
Internet speed and reliability
We have re-visited so many times, partly due to the fact that this is a perfect co-working and co-living option when you want to stay in a beautiful and trendy vibe spot in Munich. We have had zero issues during any of our stays. There has never been difficulty uploading, downloading or streaming. Every evening we would stream on multiple devices. Its one of the most reliable options in the city.
Noise levels and privacy
You would think a place that has 360 rooms, it could be loud but it never has been while we have stayed. The rooms are very well “sound proofed” in our opinion as we have never heard our neighbors. Downstairs people occasionally will be chatting or discussing, but overall everyone seems to be very respectful of the fact that many of the guest like to work in the common spaces. As for privacy, every room has total privacy.
Facilities & Services
On-site facilities such as gyms, pools, co-working spaces, etc.
A destination apartment hotel in Munich with a heated outdoor pool, sauna, gym, and dedicated yoga studio for that all-important down-time. In our social spaces you’ll find Michelin-star restaurant, Mural. Plus co-working, meeting, and event spaces – all just 15 minutes from the city centre. Mural farmhouse restaurant and bar on the base level offer breakfast, lunch and dinner options as well as coffee or alcoholic options for whatever you need. WunderLocke has an additional 7th floor cocktail bar as well for a more social vibe than the working areas down stairs.
Quality of services provided (housekeeping, front desk, etc.)
There is a 24 hour front desk service and the check-in process is super quick and simple. The staff are all wonderful and keep the place running smoothly. Beds are freshly made and new towels, glasses and things are provided each morning if you request. However if you want to keep your things for environmental reasons they are happy yo help that way as well.
Value for Money
Pricing compared to similar accommodations in the area
This is a budget-friendly option or everything you get included in this co-living and co-working spaces. One of the benefits of not being directly in the downtown city center, prices are more reasonable and you can stay at a place where everything you need is at your fingertips.
Overall value proposition for digital nomads
I would highly recommend WunderLocke to any digital nomads visiting or looking for a longer term stay in Munich. You truly have everything you need on site and while you aren’t directly in the center of the city, the benefits and amenities you get staying here far outweigh the cons of not being directly in city center. You are guaranteed to have fast and reliable internet, a great place to work, food anytime you need and places to exercise or relax after work!
Our Experience & Thoughts
Personal experience and impressions
As I Mentioned, we have stayed at WunderLocke 3 times now as we have enjoyed our stay each and every visit. We stayed here for an Oktoberfest weekend, for a work trip and for a holiday so we had different schedules and itineraries each time, but it was perfect for all three. If you want to stay in an amazing co-working and co-living setting, with wonderful amenities and everything you need on site then Wunderlocke is for you! You can easily make it to the center and we absolutely think the benefits you get from this accommodation is worth staying slightly outside the city.
