Pantry: Budapest
Brunch, brunch, brunch. As I’ve said in many reviews I live for brunch. I’ve made it my mission to try as many brunch hot spots as possible. Today we went to one that’s been high on my list for a while to try because of their “tapas” style option for breakfast. It’s called Pantry Budapest. We’ve been waiting because of the pandemic and wanted to be able to fully enjoy the experience for the tapas brunch. However we were in town and happened to be in that neighborhood and decided we’d give it a try for just a normal take away option. Boy oh boy, it did not disappoint!
DECOR:
First off, this adorable little cafe is a tiny shop with very limited seating so if you want to enjoy a proper sit down meal you’ll want to plan ahead and get there early. It’s a narrow room but the decor is clean with a blue and white palette. The decor on the walls is very simple with a bit of an industrial vibe.
SERVICE:
The guy was very friendly and patient as we were the only ones there. It did take quite a while to make our orders which I didn’t think were THAT complicated but maybe it’s just bit a place to go if you have a time constraint. It could be different if it’s normal dine in or maybe it’s worse, I will be interested to see when we return for the tapas style brunch.
TASTE:
Kvémsajtos Bagel: they offer 4 bagel sandwiches and I ordered one with herbs cream cheese, carrot slices, cucumber, salad and dressing. It was wonderful!! It was also one of the messiest meals I’ve had in a long time (so make sure you have plenty of napkins). The flavors combined superbly together and it was so fresh. (1250ft/ €4)
Old School bagel: comes with bacon, scrambled egg, salad and vinaigrette dressing. My partner enjoyed it but didn’t seem to be as impressed by his as I was by mine. (1350ft/ €4.25)
Bonus: they have a small section where they sell a ton of reusable coffee cups and different holders.
