Trocadero: Benalmádena

We were told that Trocadero was an absolute must visit restaurant if you want amazing food, nice views and a lovely dinning experience. After having a romantic dinner here I must say, I can fully endorse that statement. It is on the pricey side so don’t expect to pay anywhere close to a “normal” dinner price (if you’re like me I love to find budget friendly places with great taste and sometimes struggle when I see higher prices). I would say it is fairly priced, but expect to pay for the fine dining experience. However that being said, I have to say it is well worth it for a special occasion. Everything about our time there was wonderful, I honestly have no complaints at all. Highly, highly recommended to everyone who can splurge for one meal.

DECOR:

They have three separate areas. The first is upstairs and it’s a bar only area. Downstairs you will find an indoor dining area with multiple rooms, a large safari themed bar, a covered patio for dining and the main terrace. You honestly can’t go wrong with any of them, but we choose the covered patio with great views right next to the ocean.

AMBIANCE:

When you enter the front it feels as if tou are going into a jungle like treehouse that magically turns into a beach front property.

SERVICE:

The staff were lovely. They were so attentive and brought us anything and everything we asked for. The kitchen gave us a complimentary octopus salad and they have a traveling bread basket (€2.50 a piece). They were happy to help with recommendations and full of wonderful conversations.

TASTE in Trocadero:

Sangria: we ordered a pitcher and it was very refreshing, very tasty. Not too sweet and not overpowering. It had the perfect after taste that just slowly faded, not the syrup flavor a lot of the cheaper ones leave on your mouth. (€18)

Croquettes: SCRUMPTIOUS. These were by far the best croquettes of the trip. The breading was crunchy and crumbly with the perfect fried taste. Inside was like an explosion of cream cheese potato and ham. The ham was properly tiny slices and made all the difference. (€12)

Beef filet: Thick, juicy, tender and all around heavenly. It’s easily a 2+ inch filet and it’s served with a glorious peppercorn gravy sauce that has a tangy citrus finish. It also came with a side of fries that were very soft and perfect for dipping . (€29)

Norwegian Lobster: six Norwegian little lobsters in a full butter sauce skillet. They were fresh, delicious and just exactly what I needed when I went for my final night seafood dinner (€35)

We can definitely understand why so many people say that Trocadero is a must do place when visiting Benalmádena. The experience was a wonderful one and the most luxurious one we had on this trip. Total: 10/10
